Suspision of tick resistance to acaricides OP due to failures in the field was confirmed with the use of discriminatory dosis. This study confirms presumptive diagnosis by means of in vitro techniques (Stone and Haydock) and in vivo ones (stall test). Both results are discussed and their coincidence is determined. The behaviour of strain R4 with different OP acaricides used in Uruguay is shown, as well as the possibility of its control under field conditions.
