Identification of strains of micobacteria isolated in the "Miguel C. Rubino" Veterinary Research Center (CIVET) between 1981-1986
Through a total of 630 samples received during the period 1981-1986, 254 mycobactena strains (40.31 %) were identified. It was achieved the isolation of 16 species based on the cultural and biochemical features. In 254 identified strains, 52.47 % were "Tuberculous" mycobacteria (M. bovis and M. tuberculosis) represented 53.93 %; meanwhile "Non Tuberculous" mycobacteria were 42.53 %, where MAI complex represented 21.65 %.
