Adaptability and stability of performance of eleven upland rice varieties in Triângulo Mineiro and Alto Paranaíba
Stability parameters for eleven rice varieties were estimated in 23 environments through ten experiments carried out in three municipalities in the Triângulo Mineiro and Alto Paranaíba areas, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The environments were obtained with different fertilization levels applied to the experimental replications. In general, the varieties IAC 164, IAC 47, IAC 165, IAC 5128, IAC 5032, IAC 25 and IAC 1131 were the most productive and showed wide adaptability. IAC 164 was the variety most responsive to environmental improvement. The varieties IAC 5100, IAC 1246 and Pratão Precoce had an intermediate response to environmental improvement, but, on the average, were somewhat less productive than the first seven named. The performance of IAC 5544 showed poor adaptation to high yielding environments. IAC 47 was the most stable variety.
