Blooming season, blooming infensity and fruit growth according to the distribufion by quadrants in orange trees.

Four orange cultivars (Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck), grown in the orchard of Escola Superior de Agricultura de Lavras (ESAL), state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, were studied in order to establish their blooming season and blooming intensity, as well as the number of grown fruits according to their quadrants. The number of days necessary to attain 70% of blooming, the total number of flowers, and the percentage of grown fruits were evaluated. It was concluded that the cultivars 'Baianinha' was the earliest variety, followed by 'Pera Rio', 'Valência' and 'Natal'. The southern quadrant had the earliest blooming, whereas the northern one had more fiowers. No differences were found among the cultivars as for the total number of fruits.
