Economic valuation of the environmental goods and services of the San Antonio de Padua wetland in Popayán

The environmental economic valuation establishes the benefits or costs associated with the deterioration or conservation of environmental goods and services (ESB). The objective of this work is to carry out the economic valuation of the BSA provided by the San Antonio de Padua wetland. Methodologically, it began with the application of surveys to the community to assess its perception about the BSA, through the comprehensive valuation of ecosystem services, VIBSE, then the estimation of the economic value of the BSA, through the contingent valuation, then the state, trend and factors of change in the BSA were identified, taking into account the drivers that induce these changes. The BSA offer that represents the greatest preference is regulation services 46%, cultural services 29%, and finally supply services 25% in land cover: wetland, protection strip, stream and pasture. The economic assessment indicates that regarding the willingness to pay DAP in money, 18% of households would pay between $1,000 and $5,000 per month and 93% would pay in labor; In addition, 80% of those surveyed would be willing to accept (DAA) between $1,000 and $5,000 per month, while 20% would not accept any compensation. Finally, supply services predominate in the low state, with a tendency to worsen, while cultural services are in a high state, with a tendency to improve; likewise, regulation services are in a high state with a tendency to improve, whose drivers of change are: intensive exploitation, changes in land use and pollution.
