Description of a new species of Coral snake (Elapidae: Micrurus)

A new species of venomous coral snake is described ( Micrurus oligoanellatus) in the natural reserve of Tambito, municipality of El Tmabo (Cauca, Colombia) at the west slope of western Andes. it characterizes by having the color pattern red- white- black- white- red with a low number of black rings in the body. The black band in the neck is absent and presents a very low number of subcaudal scales in comparison with another coral species from the same area.
