Leaf anatomical characterization of Lonchocarpus lilloi (Fabaceae, Papilionoideae)

Lilloa 48 (2). Lonchocarpus lilloi is an endemic tree of Salta and Jujuy, living between 350 and 500 msnm. It measured near 10-30 m of tall, with leaves composed of 4 to 6 opposite leaflets and one terminal leaflets. The aim was to study the leaf anatomy of this species. We used fresh material collected in the Botanical Graden of Miguel Lillo Foundation and Horco Molle Experimental Reserve and were applied conventional anatomical techniques. The results showed that the leaflets is entire, symmetric, ovate with pinnate venation. Presence of stomata of different types: paracytic, hemiparacytic, anomocytic and anfiparacytic in the abaxial epidermis; simple and glandular trichomes were observed. The petiole is subcircular with actinocytic stomata, and simple trichomes. Were observed esquizógenos ducts and cubic crystals in the lamina and the petiole. The diagnostic characters for leaf identification of L. lilloi are: pulvinus, domatia, venation type, stomata, trichomes, crystals, esquizogenos channels, secretory ducts and laticifers tubes articulated
