Leaf morphology, anatomy and foliar achitecture of Myrsine laetevirens (Myrsinaceae)
Ruiz, Ana Inés; María E. Guantay; Graciela I. Ponessa. 2012. “Leaf morphology, anatomy and foliar achitecture of Myrsine laetevirens (Myrsinaceae)». Lilloa 49 (1). The architecture and leaf morpho-anatomy of a M. laetevirens (Mez) Arechav. population from El Sunchal (Tucumán, República Argentina) is studied. The material was fixed in FAA and conventional histological techniques were used. M. laetevirens has simple leaves, oblanceolate or spatulate, alternate, entire margin, with numerous dark spots distributed blade and petiole. Dorsiventral leaf, hypostomatic. Paracytic stomata. Glandular trichomes peltate with heads globose and oblong. Idioblasts clustered and isolated. The petiole is presented subcircular transcorte basally and apically winged subcircular. Schizogenous ducts in mesophyll and petiole. The sheet has venation pinnate-type-cladódroma camptódroma. Described for the first time the presence of trichomes oblong head, leaf architecture and grouped into mesophyll idioblasts to Myrsine laetevirens
