Isoenzymatic identification of avocado rootstock (Persea americana Mill.).

The technique of micropropagation is currently used in avocado in order to ensure that the material obtained is uniform and resistant to Phytophthora cinnamomi Rand. The aim of the present work was to identify, by means of isoenzymes, donor plants to be used as avocado rootstock. The identification was conducted via vertical electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel using peroxidase isoenzymatic systems. The results demonstrated that the peroxidases give a reference pattern that allows identification of donor material.
