Primer registro del anostraco de altura Branchinecta papillata (Crustacea Branchiopoda: Anostraca) para Argentina, y actualización de la biodiversidad de anostracos en el país

Branchinecta papillata Rogers, De los Ríos and Zúñiga, is a high-altitude anostracan described on the basis of material collected in ephemeral shallow chlorinated or sulphated pools, near the road to Salar de Coposa, in the Atacama Altiplano, Tarapacá region, Iquique province, Chile, at 3730 m elevation. Recently, the species was identified in samples from Cumbres Calchaquíes (province of Tucumán, Argentina), at 4300 m elevation approximately. This is the first record of the species for Argentina.
