A new metamorphic outcrop in Sierra Las Cuevas, prov. of Catamarca (Argentina)?. It occupies the central-southern part of sierra Las Cuevas, Catamarca, and consists of a fine group of quartz-biotite schists, similar to those appearing in a extensive area of the hill. Its age (K-Ar method), undoubtedly pregranitic, is estimated upper Precambrian.
