Distribución y preferencias de microhábitat en Anuros (Amphibia) en bosque maduro y áreas perturbadas en Anchicayá, Pacífico colombiano

We studied the richness, distribution, and microhabitat selection of anurans at Anchicayá, on the Pacific region of Colombia, an area under deforestation. We distributed nine sampling transects within three habitats (rnature forest, transition forest, and deforested areas) and sarnpled thern during seven months (October 1995 through April 1996). We found 15 species of anurans; Eleutherodactylus raniformis, Agalychnis spurrelli and Smilisca phaeota were the rnost abundant, with 158, 58 and 42 individuals respectively. The richness and distribution of anurans was affected by human disturbance; the nurnber of species in the transitional habitat was greatest due to greater cornplexitv of the vegetation, which offers high microhabitat diversity. The construction of artificial bodies of water rnav influence the distribution and abundance of species reproducing in lentic water, as A. spurrelli.
