Diabetes Mellitus is one of the most prevalent chronic diseases in pediatric ages, and its handling should take into account not only the prevention and treatment of acute and chronic complications, but also the improvement of the patient’s quality of life, through an efficient educational process based on lifestyle changes and Insulin therapy. The author depicts insulin therapy in diabetic children, highlighting the importance of a strict metabolic control of the intensive regimes with multiple daily insulin administrations, with use of new generation insulin analogues.
