Ranchers of Entre Rí­os in the nineteenth century, 1840-1880

In this paper we address the rationality of investment and their logical operating in entrerrianas “estancias” over the origins of rural capitalism Argentina between 1840 and 1880. The research analyzed how rural investment evolved into the general investment patterns. What weigth had on rural production cycle costs of various production factors. Finally, we study management strategies and what was the profitability of the ranchers. The paper uses data from a series of inventories and a set of accounts for “estancias” from probate records. We try to show at work weight diversified investment patterns and evolution of the costs of production factors. It also proposes consider the profitability appears to have obtained the ranchers.
