Emissions of ammonia, nitrous oxide, methane and carbon dioxide and odor were measured during the processing of calf faeces by adding quicklime and mixing it into the faeces in a pilot installation.The measured emissions of ammonia, nitrous oxide, methane and carbon dioxide and odor were relatively low compared to average emissions from the barn. The dry matter content of the end product was lower than previously thought possible.
