GEOFOOD - Energy model of geothermal greenhouse aquaponic systems, Part I, Model description and applications

This report contains a full description of the functionality and applicability of a geothermal greenhouse aquaponic model that has been developed for the EU project GEOFOOD. Energy models for greenhouse and aquaculture production have been combined to assess how heat extraction from a geothermal well can be optimised. The model can therefore be applied as a development tool to support the direct use of geothermal energy within the food sector by evaluating the potential of aquaponics as a thermal treatment network.
