Orgnisation of training programme for primary science teachers: a suggested model

The introduction of new primary school science curriculum in India necessitates inservice teacher education - It is intended to provide 4-week training courses for primary school teachers. Though a kit of instructional materials has been supplied by Unicef to selected schools for implementation of the Science Education Project, teacher developed materials are still needed and teachers should be taught to set up simple improvised apparatus with local resources. The new syllabuses have a strong environmental education component.
