Our classroom is wild America

This book is about environmental education as taught by the author and his wife through a programme of study tours in USA - Secondary school students of the 'Trailside Country School' spend one year of their secondary education in an educational environment very different from the traditional one. The secondary school curriculum includes credit courses based on the daily encounters of the students as they visit various areas and places of interest throughout the country. One year in this programme is equivalent to a full year in other secondary schools or one or two semesters of college instruction. Outdoor activities are emphasized. Group dynamics and individual development are key educational objectives and 'freedom' is the byword of the author's educational philosophy.
