Official report from Austria for UNESCO World Conference on adult education states that it contributes to economic development and full employment by increasing mobility - The report enumerates adult education programmes relating to political socialization, environmental education, consumer education, parent education programmes and describes the development of vocational education including further training, retraining and professional training in industry and administration. continuation education is offered in evening courses. The report lists agencies, national organizations and institutions involved in adult education and providing financial support, gives information on the education of adult educators and points out that adult education is at present a subjects of study at universities. Efforts are made to improve teaching methods. The report expresses the need for lifelong education and the integration of adult education into the school system so that certification may be obtained by credits
