Volatile constituents from the fruits of Astydamia latifolia (L. fil.) Baillon grown in the Canary Islands

A steam distilled oil obtained from the fruits of astydamia latifolia grown in Tenerife, Canary Islands, was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Twenty-six components were characterized representing 98.6% of the oil. The oil contained β-phellandrene (15.0%), γ-terpinene (6.0%), myristicin (39.6%) and dillapiole (16.9%) as major constituents. © 1999, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
