Estrogen binding sites in the ovary of the European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax L.)
The binding characteristics of the European sea bass estrogen receptor (ER) were determined in ovarian cytosolic and nuclear extracts. Results were consistent with the presence of a single class of high affinity and low capacity ER, the first to be characterized in teleost ovary. This will contribute to our understanding of changes in ER affinity and abundance during sex differentiation in this economically important species
