The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is currently formulating the Third Asia-Pacific Forest Sector Outlook Study (APFSOS III). APFSOS III aims to provide a clear picture of emerging opportunities and challenges for forestry in Asia and the Pacific to 2030 and 2050, laying out a solid foundation for long-term strategic planning by decision-makers including governments, investors, industries, civil society, and other stakeholders. As part of APFSOS III, back-to-back technical workshops on (1) Trade of Forest Products and (2) Forest Governance were held on 26-27 September 2018 at RECOFTC – The Center for People and Forests, Bangkok, Thailand to look at the trends and discuss the outlook for 2030.
