Monitoring Measures of Impact
The goal of the FAO/GEF Transfrontier Conservation Area (TFCA) project is to improve the ecological health of the project landscape, including the elephant corridor and the wellbeing of the communities within the area. This document includes a Monitoring Protocol and Manual to serve as a guide for training fringing community members and local forestry staff to monitor the impacts of the project being implemented in both Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire. The Monitoring Protocol is described in terms of the type of audience, data collection methods, analysis and presentation of data, the type of personnel and the plan for the various activities of the project. It further details out the methods for gathering data on the key outcomes of the project. The final part of the Protocol provides information on analysis of data collected, its management and communication of the results.
