Small scale irrigation schemes based on the mobilization of groundwater resources (climatic zone 500.600 mm rainfall). General presentation

Groundwater is physically available in proportion of the Sudanese-Sahelian zone. The systematic use of these aquifers could and should play a role in rural development by improving production. The present proposal includes: discussion of considerations related to the development of small-scale irrigation from existing groundwater and to the important potential thus unleashed; a general plan of action for (pilot projects).
