A ajuda mutua rural, entre intercâmbio e reciprocidade

Based on transversal outlooks about mutual assistance in several contemporaneous rural societies, the paper examines the nature and the economic principles which rule these practises usually defined as exchange of mutual services. Analysis of mutual help forms and of the values they produced shows that these practises don't belong to the category of exchange, but to the reciprocity principle. The universality of these practices, all other the world, allows to characterize several dynamics and structures of reciprocity.
