Using less known species : some examples of mechanical problems to be solved

Improving knowledge and use of less known species has to be supported in parallel to that of the very few well-known ones. Problems related to growth stresses and wood machining are especially addressed. The need of data banks providing with basic properties and correlations between properties is discussed.
