Cotton collection on nine Carribean islands and south Florida

Seed of 180 dooryard and wild accessions of #Gossipium hirsutum# and four #G. barbadense# were collecte during late February and March, 1985 in Trinidad and Tobago, Netherlands Antilles (Curacao, Bonaire, and Aruba), Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Florida, The Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico. The 184 accessions collected will add to the cotton germplasm diversity of the #Gossypium# Collection. The cotton collecting expedition was a collaborative project between USDA-ARS, CIRAD (Centre de Cooperation Internati- onal en Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement), France, and FAO-UN (Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations). A. R. Percival represented USDA-ARS, and J. A. Schwendiman and J. L. Belot represented CIRAD.
