Creating an on-farm research program in Ecuador: the case of INIAP's production research program
This paper describes the use of collaborative on-farm research in the development of improved maize technology for representative farmers in an Andean region. Featured elements include a description of the research process, some agronomic and economics research results, and how the process was institutionalized by INIAP and extended to other crops and regions.
