Commodity prices just a click away, Business Line, Internet edition, June 2002 Farmers in Andhra Pradesh can now check out the prices of various commodities in different agricultural market yards in the State through the Internet or telephone. The State Marketing Department has launched an interactive voice response system farmers can learn of the prices of different commodities, and a website that provides information on the availability and prices of commodities in 60 market yards. Farmers can post details of their produce, and interact with purchasers directly. The department has also installed information kiosks in market yards that provide information about seasonal conditions, agricultural practices and measures to improve quality and productivity.
