Caribbean Region Quarterly Bulletin: Volume 3: Issue 4: November 2014

The Caribbean Region Quarterly Bulletin discusses recent economic developments in the 6 IDB-member Caribbean countries, as well as the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS). The countries are: The Bahamas, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago. The regional supplement, entitled "Inflation in the Caribbean: a Dormant Volcano", discusses inflation risks in the Caribbean. Although inflation risks are expected to remain contained in the short and medium term, experience reminds us that Caribbean countries are highly vulnerable to fluctuations in commodity prices. In this vein, the regional report examines the determinants and risks associated with inflation in the CCB countries.
