Research advances on the productive behavior of avocado trees (Persea americana Mill.) under subtropical conditions

Advances in the research on avocado cultivation are generally associated with major global producers (Chile, Mexico, and the United States). The issues that have been the subject of research are focused on the study of productive performance of the species under subtropical conditions. Research topics include studies on hormonal and nutritional factors associated with the growth and development of the avocado crop in response to environmental parameters. This has allowed for the development of management practices of the species in order to increase production. In this article, we summarize the advances in research on avocado cultivation under subtropical conditions in order to provide information that will aid in the development of research related to this species under the tropical conditions of Colombia.
