Croissance du merlu de la région du Golfe de Tunis.

A study of growth of hake (Merluccius merluccius mediterraneus) in the Gulf of tunis region was made using both the direct method (determination of age from whole otoliths, or from cut sections of otoliths after polishing and burning), and the indirect system (determination of successive modal sizes from size distributions of hake caught by fishing boats). By these methods it was established that hake in this region grow rapidly at the beginning of life, and then the growth rate decreases with the increase in age. female also have a faster growth rate than male, the difference between the 2 rhythms is small at the start of life and increases with age.
