Plankton survey in the southern part of the Caspian Sea

A Plankton survey was conducted in the southern part of the Caspian Sea in order to identify the plankton communities and to put the exploitation of these aquatic resources on a rational and sustainable basis. A column of water from surface to bottom was sampled in different seasons, abundance and distribution of Phyto and Zooplankton was determined for the surface transparent aid thermocline layers.
