Do laboratório ao data center: reconfigurando a atividade científica por meio da inteligência artificial.
RESUMO - O objetivo deste estudo foi examinar o papel da inteligência artificial (IA) na reconfiguração da atividade da pesquisa científica e tecnológica. A IA tem desempenhado um papel crescente na produção de textos científicos, com impactos sobre as noções de autoria e crédito. Além disso, traz implicações epistemológicas e sociológicas para a produção de dados e testes de hipóteses. Este estudo busca oferecer uma contextualização geral da IA e suas diferentes tecnologias relacionadas, a partir do referencial do campo dos estudos sociais da ciência e da tecnologia. A análise baseia-se em revisão bibliográfica, análise de notícias e em material técnico e de divulgação sobre IA. Argumentamos que o impacto da IA sobre a produção de dados e textos acadêmicos significa mudanças importantes no fazer científico. Espera-se que este trabalho incentive novas linhas de pesquisa e debates sobre a intersecção da IA com a ciência, tecnologia, inovação e sociedade. ABSTRACT - The objective of this study was to examine the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the reconfiguration of scientific and technological research activity. AI has played an increasing role in the production of scientific texts, with impacts on the notions of authorship and credit. In addition, it brings epistemological and sociological implications for data production and hypothesis testing. This study seeks to provide a general contextualization of AI and its related, different technologies, based on the framework of the field of social studies of science and technology. This research is based on a comprehensive literature review and the analysis of news reports, as well as technical and promotional materials on AI. We argue that the impact of AI on the production of data and academic texts means important changes in the scientific practice. This work is expected to stimulate new lines of research and debates over the intersection of AI and science, technology, innovation, and society
