Porcine Corpus Luteum RNA-Sequencing

Behavioral anestrus, defined as ovulation in the ovary without signs of behavioral estrus in the presence of a mature boar is a major reason for removal of replacement gilts from the herd. Differential gene expression in the corpus luteum was analyzed in behavioral anestrus gilts and cyclic controls at luteal phase of the estrous cycle to understand gene expression profiles associated with different pubertal phenotypes in gilts.
