Heat stress and β-adrenergic agonist supplementation have little impact on the rumen bacterial composition of wether lambs

Cattle are suplemeneted with β-adrenergic agonists prior to harvest. This supplement stimulates the adrenergic system, which is also responsive to stressors. As the supplement and stress alone impact growth efficiency, we are interested in how the combined stimuli to the adrenergic system may alter animal performance. In this study, we investigate the impact of these factors on the rumen microbiome of market lambs using 16s sequencing.
