Assessment of the quality of beans of different coffee (Coffea arabica L.) cultivars
Eight C. arabica cultivars were grown in 1998/99 in Sao Sebastiao do Paraiso, Minas Gerais, Brazil. After drying and processing, the beans were studied for potassium leaching, electric conductivity and activity of polyphenoloxidase [catechol oxidase]. There was no significant difference among cultivars for polyphenoloxidase activity, while cv. Mundo Novo, Acaia Cerrado and Icatu (H 2944) had potassium leaching and electrical conductivity than the other cultivars.
