Availacao preliminar da viabilidade de producao de biodiesel a partir de graos defeituosos de café
A study on the feasibility of producing biodiesel by the transesterification of the triglycerides and free fatty acids fraction of the oil of defective and healthy coffee beans was carried out. The oil was extracted with petroleum ether prior to the esterification. The referred fraction of the oil was successfully converted into the methyl-esters of the fatty acids, thus, demonstrating the feasibility of producing biodiesel from defective coffee beans.
