Soil application of systemic insecticides for mealybug control

A study was undertaken to ascertain the efficacy of soil application of two systemic insecticides, dimethoate (Rogor 35 EC) and monocrotophos (Nuvacron 36 percent SL) against the mealybug, Planococcus lilacinus (Cockerell), infesting the aerial and subsoil parts of Coffea arabica L. cv. Catimor (Cauvery). Results indicated that both the chemicals were efficacious, but dimethoate was superior to monocrotophos.
