Self-incompatibility studies in coffee

A mating design for self-incompatibility studies is tested. This design reduces the number of required crosses by half of the diallel and can be used to identify the individual S-genotypes by deductive genetic reasoning and estimating the number of self, incompatibility alleles in a plant population with a gametophytic self-incompatibility system of multiple oppositional alleles. The design is tested with two species of Coffea (C. eugenioides Moore and C. racemosa Lour.) and the results are presented
