Pseudomonas syringae van Hall and Meloidogyne javanica (Treub) Chitwood in coffee die-back complex

The coffee die-back complex is being investigated for several years now in India. The bacterial plant pathogen Pseudomonas syringae van Hall which was reported earlier from South America and Kenya has been observed for the first time in South India. Plants in decline also showed heavy population of adult female of the root knot nematode Meloidogyne javanica (Treub) Chitwood in the field investigations. Further indepth studies are required to evolve integrated measures directed towards the control of the pathogens involved and ameliorating the die-back complex
