Control of green scale on coffee by stem-application of systemic insecticides

The efficacy of "stem-application" of systemic insecticides, monocrotophos 36 EC and dimethoate 30 EC in the control of green scale on arabica coffee plants of different age groups was evaluated. Though both the insecticides appreciably reduced the incidence of the pest, monocrotophos was found to be significantly superior to dimethoate. Phytotoxic symptoms were noticed on young treated plants with less foliage
