Caffeine content in different arabica and robusta selections of coffee grown in India

Cafeeine was estimated in different parts of twelve arabica and three robusta materials. Hybrido-di-timor had maximum caffeine content whereas, S.288 and S.795 materials had minimum caffeine content (both in whole plant and bean). In general, coffee beans had maximum caffeine content compared to other plant parts. It is also interesting to note that beans of robusta selections had almost double the quantity of caffeine compared to beans of arabica selections
