Effectiveness of botran, delan and rovral in inhibiting germination of Conidia of Botrytis cinerea F. sp. coffeae, the cause of warty disease of coffee

In vitro tests were conducted to determine the efficacy of Botran, Delan and Rovral in inhibiting growth of Botritis cinerea f.sp. coffeae. Rovral inhibited the mycelial growth, conidial germination and infection of healthy flowers and green berries. Botran and Delan failed to prevent mycelial growth and infection of healthy flowers and green berries. All three fungicides failed to prevent infection on punctured green berries but Rovral gave the lower levels of infection. Rovral was found to be the most effective fungicide against Botrytis cinerea and may provide the control of `warty disease' in Kenya
