Capacidades dos armazéns de intermediários de cacau na regiao sul da Bahia

The general characteristics of commercial cacao storage in the Southern Region of Bahia are: small production relative to other grain products; six to eight months harvest; rapid commercial movement, therefore high turnover. The warehouses are of the conventional type without any environmental control. Precise knowledge of the static and dynamic capacities of warehouse storage was needed in the technical-economic context of the region. The methodology used at CEPLAC/CEPEC to determine the static capacity of storage units is developed from ordinary stacking procedures and applied to all intermediate/merchant warehouses in different localities and subregions. Current and peak static capacities were determined by application of unit values of the warehouses of the region, as well as the dynamic capacities. In addition to the interesting values obtained, the results indicate a need for a deeper study of the regional dynamic capacities. In addition to the interesting values obtained, the results indicate a need for a deeper study of the regional dynamic capacities, which can be developed in the near future.
