Cuatro especies de tripes en el cacao de Tabasco, México

It is often said that only the thrips Selenothrips rubrocinctus (Giard) is responsible for damage in the cocoa plantations of Mexico. However, it was found that the thrips Frankliniella parvula Hood, Sericothrips inversus Hood and Leucothrips piercei var. Theobromae Priesner are also pests of cocoa. This is the first time that these three species have been reported on cocoa in Mexico. Habits, life cycles and distribution of all the four thrips species are mentioned
