A history of the cacao introductions into the Reconcavo Region, State of Bahia, Brasil, is presented. From 1888 up to the present five introductions were made, in broad sense, involving cultivars of the groups known by "Amazonian Forastero" and hybrids from "Criollo" and "Forastero"
