Levantamento semidetalhado dos solos do Município de Lomanto Júnior, Bahia
Cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) farming is the principal economic activity of the municipality of Lomanto Júnior in Southest Bahia, Brazil, occuping 61 percent of the area. A semi-detailed soil survey of the region was made to support basic research and extension services activities. Panchromatic aerial photographs, 1:108,000 scale were used for soil mapping and field control. Five soil profiles and thirty four soil samples were collected for chemical, morphological and physical analyses. As a result seven soil units were identified: Podzolic - CEPEC variety (Alfisols), Itabuna and Morro Redondo (Ultisols); Latosol - Agua Sumida and Una varieties (Oxisols); Hydromorphic and Una the last two units have chemical and physical limitations for cacao cultivation
