Levantamento florestal da Estacao Experimental Morretes I. do Instituto Agronómico do Paraná

This study had evaluated a secondary natural forest near the shore in Parana State, Brazil. The main objective was to know the actual conditions of the forest and define ways to make a feasible management schedule. It was evaluated the florist composition, abundance, dominance, frequency and index of importance value. Some consideration on the soil type of the area were described too and some special considerations were made about the Palmtree (Euterpe edulis). The results showed that the original forest was explored about 30 years ago, and the best of the shaft and stock wood was removed at that time. Because of this fact the natural regeneration of the principal species are low. The population of Palmtree is not enough for a commercial exploration on the present; the Caixeta (Tabebuia cassinoides) shows a volume that makes a commercial explotation feasible.
