Análises multivariadas para manejo de floresta natural na Reserva Florestal de Linhares, Espirito Santo; análisis de agrupamento e discriminante

This research shows the results of the cluster and discriminant analysis carried out in high density forest without interference, located in "Reserva Florestal de Linhares", belonging to the "Cia. Vale do Rio Doce - CVRD", Linhares State of Espirito Santo - Brasil. The forest typology is classified as Lowland Closed Umbrophilous Forest. The basic data used on multivariated statistics analysis were X-matrix variables, elaborated from systematic sampling data of trees with dbh ó 45.0 cm. The stands variables: number of trees, basal area, average diameter, average merchantable and total height from 195 plots of 0.20 ha each, were submited to cluster analysis using as clustering criterions distance cord and the algorithm of minima variance of Orlóci. This analysis resulted in a dendrogram witch shows the agglomerative hierarchical and polytetic classification of 195 plots on 6 differents clusters. After construction of the homogeneous clusters, discriminant analysis was applied to test the integrity and consistence of homogeneous clusters. Based on systematic sample plots and results of cluster and discriminant analysis, it was possible to localize and to delimit the homogeneous clusters on map. Finally, the volume per hectare by diameter classes and total were estimated, on each homogeneous cluster. Since some clusters presented higher merchantable volume per hectare, zoning of the area was proposed and acomplished, discriminating proper areas for sustained san mill production, permanent environmental protection, preservation and protection of genetic material, refuge for local fauna etc, inside the managed areas.
